iPhone Unlock Maybe !!!
Hey everybody
I have came up with an idea that May and hope will work but would really like to hear from you all.
So I have been looking for a way to unlock my 8GB iPhone 4 ATT for the longest time now and every time I get close an update or something like that comes out and I bite the bullet and update and cry later but I didn't do it for this update 6.1 so I'm running 6.0 ( wow what a big step up right ?) so the idea is to swap out all the Info off the AT&T bundle with whatever carrier info you have ( mine being tmobile USA ) but still keeping the name so you pertty much dum the phone into thinking its the right one Then saving that info and pop your sim in and see what happends
Plz note I have not done this yet but I would like you know what you all think then I might give it ago
Any question plz just ask

I say, give it a go and report back with your findings...Thats what testing is all about...

Unfortunately this will not work. There is far more going on than just the carrier profile when it comes to your phone connecting to the wireless network and authenticating. The carrier profile includes server information for the mobile internet access, contains connection information for the cell towers, but does NOT include authorization for your SIM / IMEI to roam onto alternate carrier towers. The only way this would be possible would be if you hacked the SIM card and replaced the data on it, however, doing so is illegal in the US and as such we cannot discuss it.
I'm not saying don't try, I'm just saying that there's pretty much no possibility that this will work. Hold off until ultrasn0w is upgraded for the basebands included on the newer phones and then you should be able to unlock with no problem. As you mentioned, it is safer to keep yourself at a low iOS revision so that you do not upgrade your baseband -- older basebands are usually hacked first.

> iPhone Unlock Maybe !!!
I recently learned about IMEI unlocks.
I got one for very cheap, <$5 on ebay and it works.
