Default iPhone 4s went into Recovery mode. Can't restore to 6.1.2

I have a FU iPhone 4s (Jailbroken, 6.1.2) that mysteriously went into recovery mode while plugged into my MacBook. Is it true that I cannot restore it to 6.1.2? I thought I had valid SHSH blobs (saved from TU) but I get a 1600 error when I try to install a local 6.1.2 IPSW. I have no idea why it would go into recovery mode: no hacked apps, everything on the phone is legit, paid for, and kosher ;-)

Are my only solutions to 1) restore to 6.1.3 (no option-restore) and wait for a jailbreakable iOS 7 in the fall or 2) restore it, sell it and try to buy a 4s with 6.1.2 on it so I can jailbreak with evasi0n?

    Thanks in advance
    John

You can't use shsh blobs to downgrade on your device, but I believe you can get out by connecting the iPhone and holding the home + power buttons until the apple logo appears. Then you're done!

Home+Power for 10s is indeed a "hard" reboot but it got worse. I left it off the charger for a couple of days and when I reconnected it it was dead, black screen, no response whatsoever. Maybe a coincidence. I had a friend who repairs iDevices, open it and check the battery, processor etc. Turns out it was a hardware failure and the phone was bricked. I had to get an out of warranty replacement from Apple for $200. But of course the OOW replacement is at 6.1.3 and not jailbreakable And of course, as you say, it's not possible to downgrade a 4S even if the hashes are valid. So I'll live with 6.1.3 until the DevTeam comes up with a jailbreak for iOS 7 hopefully sometime this fall. Jailbreaking is essential for me because I use it to access the cshell. Curious, this is the 2nd iPhone that has bricked for me. My earlier 3GS bricked and required selling for parts. I'm not impressed with Apple's quality control.

Might be a tweak that caused it. What tweaks did you both have on your 3GS and your 4S?
