Replacing DCIM and/or ADDRESSBOOK from iOS 4.01 possible to iOS 5.01?
Subject pretty much says it all... I backed up the Addressbook and DCIM / PhotoData folders from my iOS 4.01 build, before I upgraded to iOS 5.01. I tried simply dragging them back to the phone, setting permissions, but no luck... Contact list was empty, and no pictures show up. Is it possible to replace the DCIM/PhotoData and AddressBook folders from a previous iOS version over a new version? (simply replacing the folders with something like Diskaid, Totalcmdr, etc)

Not sure how to manually upgrade the databases unfortunately -- I know that's part of what iTunes does when it's restoring the backup to iOS 5 for the first time, but I've not personally had to manually upgrade them before

Looks like the database files are completely different.. names, contents, etc.. the dcim and photodata folders in ios5 are no longer formatted the same way as before in ios4.

Now with iOS 5. iCloud comes into the picture and the sqlitedb structure has been changed to accommodate the use of iCloud.
