Email images bug ... iOS 5.01 .. repeatedly displaying same image from cache :(
Ok so I think I found a bug in the default email app. I'm going to make this as short a story as possible. So I have have a security camera system that emails me when it detects motion during a certain time frame. When it email's me, it send's me 3 pictures taken at like 1-2 second intervals... so basically I get to see what triggered that motion for 3-6 seconds.
I have been using the cameras and setup for a long time now, and was using it successfully and correctly working on iOS 4.01 on my iPhone 4, successfully on an Android device, and of course directly on a pc using Gmail.
Since upgrading to iOS 5.01, I noticed that I'm only getting 1 picture over and over in those emails... Even if there is motion for lets say 30 seconds or a minute (or so), and I get several emails back to back to back quickly- I'm only seeing the first image snapped across 2, 3 or 4 emails.. Where as normally I should be getting pictures that look something like stop motion photography, capturing and emailing pictures in 2 second intervals....
So I was a little curious, I went to settings->mail, contacts - and turned off 'load remote images'... that stops me from getting images period. So I re-enabled it.
I downloaded the Gmail app from the AppStore and went back and looked at the same emails, and with the Gmail app I'm seeing the correct images, taken a second apart (so I'm seeing 3 different images in the same email that I'm only seeing 1 image 3x in the default email app), which tells me that the image ARE correctly being sent in the email, they are correct IN the email, but the apple email app for some reason is showing me the 1st image over and over (until the next session of email alerts at a later time)
Other email's with images seem to be fine, but the default email app is caching that first image and repeating it for some reason. It NEVER did that before... and the only change has been the upgrade to iOS 5.01.
Any idea's or suggestions???????????????
