Unhappy Noob in trouble with Iphone 4 update.

Need some help as something bad happened to my wife's Iphone 4.

Previously unlocked and all working well when 'someone' (ok, it might have been me but I'm reluctant to admit it in public), let itunes update the phone and 'whammo'..... now updated but locked. Using Tinyumbrella, details of phone as follows:

    MC318LL/A - Iphone 4
    Installed Firmware Versions: 5.1.1
    Installed BB Version: 04.12.01-ICE_2_13

Of course i dont't have any SHSHs saved as I only read about this stuff when checking the net for a work around (groan, whimper, sniffle). The phone now just sits there telling me to put a valid SIM in. I think the phone was originally locked to Bell but given I am in Australia, there would be no way of getting a valid Bell SIM card to work here.

So besides buying the wife a new iphone or leaving home, what (if any) are my options in getting the phone to work again? If there is no current work around to fix this at the moment, is there anything on the near horizon??

    Signed:

    Noob in the doghouse.

Seems like you have locked the device. You need to re-jailbreak it first. Use Absinthe to do so. Once you are "in", you can fake activate it. Can you see the bars that it caches network? If you need an additional sim unlock, it might get more hairy for you.

Quick question for you ...is your iPhone 4 a GSM or CDMA .... here is a little information to find out which one you have...

If you look on the BACK of your iPhone..... look for the MODEL

if your MODEL is A1332 it is a GSM iPhone 4

if your MODEL is A1349 it is a CDMA iPhone 4

now that you have this VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION.....now go to iClarified and JAILBREAK your iPhone 4
