Default Iphone 4S on 02 simlock

    Any help please,

I have bought an Iphone 4s which is simlocked to O2 however I have a T-Mobile sim that I need to use with it and don't have an O2 sim.
I need to cut my sim down as it is bigger which I can sort.

I have turned the phone on and it is factory reset and is as if not been turned on before.

Can I use the new Greenpois0n jailbreak (windows version when released) to jailbreak the phone and then unlock the sim to use my T-Mobile sim without needing to put a sim in the phone to turn it on and set it up or do I need an O2 sim to initialy set the phone up and get it working?

I am quite new to this iphone stuff however have jailbroken other things before so not a real newbie.

    Thanks in advance.

You cannot unlock the iPhone 4S presently.

Will this not change with the new jailbreak?

Nearly forgot, can you still jailbreak without putting a sim card in?

Ok no answers since, one more question then re the initial part. If I jailbreak the phone, can I do this without having to put a sim card in the phone, even to just set up?
Would I even be able to use it as an Ipod and games player etc without using the phone until an unlock becomes available. It seems I need to put firmware below 5.0.1 on the phone?
I have the latest Itunes on my windows computer.

    Thanks again.

Jailbreaking is not unlocking, an unlock relies on a jailbreak, but jailbreaks do not automatically mean there are unlocks. ultrasn0w does not support the baseband in the iPhone 4S, there is no known unlock yet for that phone, and there haven't been any clear notification from the unlock teams that they have made much progress in the recent past.

You can jailbreak the phone and hacktivate it to bypass the SIM lock, just use redsn0w to hacktivate as well. iOS 5.0.1 is fine, and you won't be able to put anything lower than that on your phone anyways -- SHSH do not work for the 4S, there is no known way to downgrade to a version of iOS that is not being presently signed by Apple on the iPhone 4S. Hopefully this will change in the future, but presently there is no known way to do this -- so even if you did need to be lower than iOS 5.0 (which you don't), you couldn't anyways.

Well here's what I did, I bought a 99p sim card pay as you go on O2 and cut it down, stuck it in the phone and it activated. I then used the greenpois0n jailbrail and it has all worked fine. I have taken the O2 sim out and the phone still works but as an Ipod touch really now. I can go on the internet with wi-fi and have all my tunes on it.
Just need to wait for some clever dude to come up with an unlock now

Right, I know there is still no software unlock at present and I am still waiting. I can still use the Iphone without sim and am having lots of fun with it but has anyone tried the new Gevey Ultra S sim unlock card. It says no cutting of card, no emergency service dial. You just put it in and it will unlock?????

I haven't used one but I was intrigued when I heard it didn't rely on the 112 dialing in order to establish service. Reviews I've seen online seem to point to it working...
