Default Iphone 3GS (not Jail broken..)

    Hi All..

Hope everyones had a good crimbo.

I got an Iphone for crimbo which is now causing issues..

It was running version 3.1.* cant remember if it was 2 or 3.
I installed Latest Itunes and with advice from my sister who is an iphone user to update it to IOS 5.
7 min download - installing took 5mins into it i get error 21, - i did some research which stated it might not be compatible and its stuck in recovery mode now.
so i have downloaded IOS 3.1.3 and tryed to install that using the shift option as im using Windows 7, and i get the common error reporting 3194
so i done some reseach and been using TinyUmbrella's TSS Server while restoring. (have unticked the "set hosts"
If I dont start TSS Server by TinyUmbrella i will get Error 3194.
But with a fixed 3194 with tinyumbrella I'm getting Error 2005 ive updated the host file with gs.apple.com ive even tried 3.1.2
im using 3.1.2 or .3 to get it bk to how it was before i clicked on "update."

    Any ideas, thanks?

Please search before posting, nearly every error you've discussed has already been discussed hundreds of times:

3194 = You're attempting to restore a non-current iOS without SHSH on file and/or without TU's TSS Server running. You need TU running and the TSS Server active and a saved SHSH for the target version of iOS for this to work at all.
21 = You're attempting to restore a custom iOS firmware without being in DFU / recovery / pwned DFU mode.
2005 = You're attempting to restore a custom iOS firmware without being in DFU / recovery / pwned DFU mode OR your USB cable/port/hub is bad.

You will need to do some research and let us know whether TinyUmbrella is able to save any SHSH for you before you should go any further -- if it just says that the SHSH are not on file, you will not be able to restore back to 3.x and will need to go to 5.0.1 -- but that's OK since they just released an untethered jailbreak for it.
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.

Am sorry its not issue 21, when i update to IOS 5, it gives me Error code 29 is what i meant, - Tiny umbrealla for once today gave me the option to restore (3rd option on the right) - so i did this tried the reinstall 3.1.3 gave me error code 1604 with out tiny umbrella running, or error 2009 with rather then the usual 3194, n 2005 n ios 5 gave me error code 11.. am not fussed what version i want or it to be jailbroken just want a phone i can phone out on. lol..

The TU log isn't going to help much -- please read the link in my sig called 'Restore Problems' and generate and post new iTunes restore log by attempting to restore 3.1.3 with TinyUmbrella's TSS server running. This will (of course) require you to shift/option restore and point to the 3.1.3 .IPSW. Beyond that, you didn't let me know which SHSH you had on file (which I'll need to know to be able to give you accurate information). What SHSH does Cydia / TinyUmbrella tell you that you have on file? Have you been successful in using TinyUmbrella to retrieve the SHSH files locally on your computer? Important questions...
