I own a iPhone 3GS running 4.3.5. Yesterday and a little thismorning I tried to update it only to be given error 3194. I am not jailbroke currently but have been in the past. It would get as far as preparing iPhone for update then it errors. To counter error 3194 I downloaded and intalled tinyumbrella. When running TU i fix error 3194 and then in the same place in the updating process I got error 1604. I tried every USB port on my pc (with windows 7) and every port on my USB hub with no effect I also tried my friends connector cable. Then I messed with some file and got error 2005 instead of 1604 or 3194. I am trying to update/restore to the Ipsw that my iTunes downloaded. I am also running the latest iTunes. I have also uninstalled everything from apple on my pc and reinstalled, restarting when iTunes asked me too, to no effect. I am about to dropkick my phone! Could I be having these problems because my phone used to be jailbroken? I have my shsh blobs for 4.3.5 saved in TU. This is so annoing! Please help!

Check the "hosts" file on your PC and make sure that "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com" is not added. Had the same problem last night, I removed that line and didn't get 3194. Good luck.
