IOS 5 jailbreak problems
Hey, new guy here. I have searched all through the forums and cant find anything that completely matched the symptoms my iphone is having.
First, I am a newb at this. I researched shsh blobs and tinyumbrella, downloaded it, and only have a slight understanding of what I am doing. Also, I downloaded iExplorer thinking I could delete some stuff but I don't know if that would do anything good.
Anyway. I just want my iphone to work right (jailbreak or not), I just want it in sellable condition.
Iphone 4 version 5.0 baseband 4.11.08
What i did - First, I Jailbreak with Redsn0w. Everything worked OK for the most part (I had issues downloading an app and didn't try another). Then, I replaced the sticky power button so, the battery was taken out with the iphone ON. This is where serious issues began.
-Cydia crashes instantly
-Safari crashes instantly
-Will not go into DFU mode, only "recovery" mode
-Will not restore/update through itunes (itunes error)
-Will not restore in settings>general>reset
One concern is, could this be from a faulty repair job? Everything else seems to work OK. Wifi works. all other apps work..
I have tried the shsh blob thing and I am not sure if what I am doing is right. I read a lot of going in to the Advanced tab and unchecking "set hosts to cydia" but I dont see an APPLY button ANYWHERE.
I did the thing that youtube said to do and the log in tinyumbrella says something like this " APPLE is NOT signing iPhone4 4.3b3 (8F5166b) SHSH requests anymore. All you can do now is select CYDIA and hope that CYDIA has your SHSH saved. If not, there is nothing you can do." For every version or whatever. So, how do I select Cydia? it won't boot up on the iphone.
I feel like I am on to something I just keep getting stuck and not knowing what to do next. Help!
Ok so I found other techniques to enter DFU and finally found a way to. It is odd I have to use a different way than before. STILL, I cant fix the problem of cydia and safari crashing.. I dont know what to do!

Still stuck here. Cydia and safari keep crashing even tho i did a recovery fix. I cant figure out how to recover the shsh blob or whatever i need to do next.
If all you want is to have the device in sellable condition, go ahead and restore it to 5.0.1. Without an SHSH, you won't be able to restore to 4.x, and I do not believe Apple is signing 5.0 anymore, and since 5.x is no longer susceptible to the man-in-the-middle SHSH exploit, there's no way to restore it if Apple isn't signing it.
You can get your SHSH blobs from TinyUmbrella by asking it to retrieve the SHSH files from Cydia's server. You may have a few on there. If you do, you can then use the saved SHSH to downgrade the phone / restore to whatever version of 4.x you have an SHSH for. You'll need to ensure that your hosts file does NOT have a line that starts with "gs.apple.com", and you'll need to ensure that the TSS server is running in TinyUmbrella. Also, you absolutely must have the SHSH file saved locally for the version you're restoring. Without it, you cannot downgrade at all and your only choice will be to restore 5.0.1.
If you attempt to restore 5.0.1 and get an error, read the link in my signature about restore problems and follow the instructions to post a useful restore log for us to review.
