Apple just released iOS 5 with 200 new feature including iMessages.... with iMesseges you will be able to send free text, picture, contacts, celender with any idevises witch run iOS 5 including: iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch 3rd & 4th G; you should have Wi-Fi,3G or EDGE(maybe GPRS too)

There is no activation for imessage. You just text someone who has an iphone running iOS5 and it will just work. You can tell if the person has it or not because the text bubble (or text balloon) will be blue instead of green.

No not at all my iphone is brand new never jailbroke it or unlocked it

imessage does not need to active just type the Apple id or the number of the pesion who have apple id....it work perfectly....and does not need to hacative it
