    Default Battery draining

I'm noticing that since the update, my battery is really draining quicker. I lost 15% overnight compared to 1 or 2% on iOS 4.

I don't have any location reminders set up. Ping is still off since iOS 4. I've read that people were having similar issues on the GM. They said turning off wi-fi was the solution. I really don't want to start toggling wi-fi on and off all day to save battery.

    Anybody having similar issues?

    Thanks

Did you restore from backup or did you set up as new? This is a very common problem caused when people restore from jailbroken backups...

I noticed an issue too but its not a jailbroke phone, very interesting to hear of others. I woke today thinking I just never charged it the night before hand. So far that is the only thing I have caught though.

I might have solved my problem. I emptied my multi-task and hard restarted the phone. I then charged it back to 100% and the usage as been normal for the past 4 hours.

I restored from back up. The back up date from 2008 on a iPhone 2G that was jailbroken but it is now on a iPhone 4 stock OTB.

I've noticed a similar issue with my phone. I assumed that it was because of what's running in the background especially location services that needs to be on for cloud to function. I may try what you did to see if it helps.

I notice a problem with the battery draining when I'm not at home since the update. I am not using a jailbroken phone. Do you know any reason why it is doing this?

My wife has a 4S and she noted that when the phone was set to automatically configure the time zone, location services was polling very very frequently. I saw a few posts about this elsewhere as well. She set the time/date to set manually and her battery life has improved dramatically.

I noticed this as well and read about this fix elsewhere. I've also corrected my settings and I have also noticed that my battery does not drain as quickly anymore.

iOS 5 has a lot of software feature that will drain your battery. The push notifications is a really big one as well as wifi. The 4s has the A5 processor that uses quite a bit of battery. I turn off my push, location, wifi, and bluetooth. If you go in to settings>locations>system services there are are a few things you can turn off that will save your battery. turn off Diagnostics and usage, location based aids, setting time zone and traffic. I just turn off locations and if I need them I just turn them on. I have a 4s and I went to bed last night with 90% and woke up with 80% so there is still some drainage. Hopefully Apple with fix this with 5.1

Looks like Apple's owning up to this one, they've seeded iOS 5.0.1 b1 to devs and it specifically addresses battery life issues (among other things). Few weeks and this should be fixed for everyone.
