Unhappy wget: command not found, apt

I seem to have wiped out some important files from my iPhone 4 during a botched update from within the cydia app. I got a whole list of errors at one point, but retried and all seemed to go well.

Until I tried to use wget via ssh.

As root trying to invoke wget gives me a message stating "wget: command not found".

Anyone know where wget is supposed to reside so I can see if it is really gone? Also, where can I get it? What package does it normally install with (maybe I'm missing the whole thing)?

Cydia seems to be working fine (I've installed apps) and I can afp into my phone. I can ssh as root.

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm not quite a n00b, but a novice for sure. (Although if you want to call me a n00b I won't be offended.)

I have been searching the web for 3 days now and can't find any info, but noticed a few others are having the same issue...

wget is not installed by default on the iPhone. I'm not 100% certain how it gets the files (probably curl), but I am certain it doesn't use wget and wget is not standard on the iPhone unless you add it -- it's available as a package on the Cydia/Telesphoreo source from Cydia.

    Hi,
I was facing the same problem.
At first, you ought to install wget.
    sudo apt-get install wget
then you can try whatever you would like to run with wget command again.
