    Exclamation Upgrade 02.10.04 to 06.15.00

    Hallo Everyone,

i have an Iphone 4, Firmware 4.1 and stuck with the baseband 02.10.04 and i want to unlock it, i looked everywhere in the internet (really everywhere), and i just got an idea, i hope it works if someone with a better experience than me can confirm it, i noticed that the Iphone 4 firmware 4.1 with a baseband 06.15.00 is unlockable, and i found a way to update manually to 06.15.00.... just one thing i don't know if it's possible from a 02.10.04.... Can someone please tell me if it's possible ?

    Thanks in Advance
    Hasso

No it is not possible, the iPhone 4 uses a different baseband chip that runs a different embedded OS with a different update security model.

There is no way to use a baseband designed for the 3G / 3GS / iPad 1 on an iPhone 4.

The 06.15.00 baseband cannot be loaded on an iPhone 4, if someone has told you that this was possible, then they are confused/wrong.

Ok thanks for clearing up things for me,

Allright so the solution now, is to wait for the NCK permanent unlock or to just purchase the Gevey's sim ? please tell me if i understood correctly.

    Thanks

At present, that is correct. It's worth mention that the Gevey SIM requires the end-user to dial 112 (an emergency number), and that is both illegal in most countries, and has serious ramifications (as you may be using a line that someone who is having a legitimate emergency needs).

But yes, at present, your options are to wait for the NCK unlock (and I've heard that the progress on that has almost completely stopped, there were some very positive seeming developments several months ago but since then I think they have hit a roadblock), or a turbo/rebel/gevey sim.
