    Default Unlocked iPhone?

    I have an officially unlocked iPhone. If I upgrade to 4 will it remain unlocked?

    No. This is a developer preview and you need to be registered as a developer to be able to activate after loading 4.0 beta.

    You answered the wrong question there.. The phone will still be unlocked yes. But Olethros is also correct, you need to activate with a dev subscription to activate.

    So as long as you can get your UDID on a dev account, your phone will be unlocked.

    Yeah very good point. I should have been clearer However as activation happens first (I think, been ages since I restored my factory unlocked 3GS) i don't think the unlock will be issued until you can activate. This would be true for a restore at least. An upgrade would remain unlocked.

    Ah you might be correct on that point. I have no idea what is done first. I just presume if you want an unlocked phone then you are going to want it activated as well

    Thanks. But still trying to pick up the courage to do it, From what I've read it appears to be quite buggy.
