unlocked 3GS 4.0.1 tried to save shsh and it saved 4.1 shsh ?? help!
So I downloaded the umbrella program, I clicked on "start tss server" then clicked on "save my shsh" then clicked on "display shshs" and it saved iPhone3GS 4.1 (8B117)-4031533395446
I did it just to have them saved just in case I need to restore for x reason eventually.
I did the same to a 3G I just bought because its running 4.1 and I thought I could somehow downgrade to 4.0.2 to unlock. Honestly I bought it for cheap from the original owner but I want to unlock it to give it to a friend who has T-Mobile.
Please guys if u can help me out or just point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it !!
Thanks in advance

Apple is no longer signing 4.0.2 (or older than 4.1) - For your 3GS you need to have requested a SHSH while they were still signing the older iOS versions.
3G doesn't really require a SHSH, it is only enforced by iTunes on iOS 4.x the actual 3G iPhone doesn't check the SHSH in hardware like the 3GS does - if you try and restore iOS 3.1.3 for example, it will work fine without a SHSH.

No, you should restore to 3.1.3 - that will work
However, you have next to zero chance of unlocking a 3G that has been upgraded to 4.1. I hope you checked the serial number was lower than xx827 before you purchased it - otherwise you might as well give up (or sell it to a hardware guy)
