trying to hacktivate my iphone 4

I have the no sim card activation screen, trying to hacktivate it to use it as a ipod touch

Ive tried using redsn0w and greenp0ison etc
It just says "AppleS5L8920XI0PSDI0IopManager::init(): Failed to get AppleS5L8920XARM7M after 130sec."

So Ive restored my iphone 4 and now I dont know what iOS or baseband it is anymore.

What should I do to hacktivate this iphone?

Now i clicked start TSS server and i went to itunes to restore my iphone with the ipsw "iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore"
it errored and now whenever i boot up my iphone it says "connect to itunes" and im trying to restore using itunes only and it says "The iphone could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (3014)"

edit: now it errors with (3194)

3194 is a very common issue - this means that the iOS version you are trying to restore is not properly signed by Apple. It looks like you have the correct TinyUmbrella setup (from the picture/description you posted)

Can you publish your restore log? The instructions are in my signature. Also is the iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw downloaded directly from Apple?

I got the ipsw from iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download
I didnt know which ipsw to use so i just downloaded 4.2 , 4.3 etc and tried them all.
not really sure which ipsw im supposed to use.

We don't recommend that download site (because some of the IPSW it gives links to are considered warez). Use this link instead http://www.hackint0sh.org/f127/22056.htm

You definitely still have something incorrectly configured related to TSS proxy, the log files show that iTunes can't retrieve a SHSH blob.

As I said earlier, your TinyUmbrella settings looked correct. Can you take a screenshot of TinyUmbrella again after you have clicked "start TSS Server"

I dont really know what ipsw is
Could you tell me which ipsw im supposed to be downloading ?

heres my tinyumbrella screenshots(I unchecked set hosts to cydia because i thought it would help restore)

Ok, now I see the problem (or at least part of it)

You are trying to restore 4.3.3 - with the TSS server running, but you don't have a local 4.3.3 SHSH saved.

Solutions: either save a 4.3.3 SHSH from Apple and restore with the TSS server (this will get further but fail with another error - which can be bypassed)

Or if you don't care about ever unlocking the phone - just restore without TinyUmbrella at all (and with the "set hosts to Cydia" unchecked)

I dont mind not being able to unlock the iphone at the moment
I just want to hacktivate it for using as a ipod touch

Now what should I do to hacktivate it?

jailbreak with Redsn0w (0.9.6rc16) - select ONLY "install Cydia"

or make a custom 4.3.3 IPSW (with pwnagetool) use expert mode and make sure the "activate" button is turned on. If you just want hacktivation, you can also choose to not install Cydia (not really much point, but it is the "least-impact" way to get hacktivated)
