Seems that the iphone is doing some sort of "check" to see if your account has tethering enabled.

The new carrier file is 7.0 .... I wonder if this can be hacked through a new carrier file?

There was a website that did that for iPhone OS 3 and 3.0.1, however there was never any hacks beyond that firmware. I don't know whether it will be hacked, best leave it for the professionals you could just buy MyWi off of Rock though, great app

on apple partner carriers it will not work, the CommCenter signaturecheck is not as easy to crack as the 3.1.x CommCenter.

you can eliminate it by installing any of the mywi no rock.

gracias por habernos compartido. ya funciona el tethering en mi iphone. pero l malo para mi es que ya no funciona el MMS despues de activar el tethering e instalar un custom profile.

i am with softbank mobile in Japan (official iphone carrier), and I used the same profile under 3.1.2 just a couple days ago before upgrading to ios4 and it worked like a charm.

MyWi is working on iPhone 3G 4.0 GM, it enables Bluetooth tethering. But springboard crashes with required MobileSubstrate, the MyWi-hack is dependent on MobileSubstrate to inject the Patch. I'm not yet satisfied with this solution, a free CommCenter hack would be better.
