Ok, I tried the ramdisk method through some help in IRC by a friend on another site who really knows his stuff.

I got through all the steps, except couldn't mount the drive and it giving an error. GetMasterBlock: Error 16 opening /dev/md0

    See here for log:

I guess I'm going to give up on that method. Did you see my post on the SSH. Did I do that right? It gave like 5 files. WAnt to be sure this isn't the problem.

Lastly, the Mostly iPhone hacking: Data recovery: not just for iBoot-pwned devices

I want to try this, but don't understand what to do? Download the windows file, then it says to Drag and drop original unmodified IPSW file over the tool icon?? I'm lost here.

Personally I would NOT have run mount like that. Letting mount auto-detect what to mount would be fine if I was booting from a normal OS, but not from a ramdisk.
Did you actually go poking around /mnt1 and more importantly /mnt2?

I think that error indicates that you ran mount incorrectly, not that you didn't manage to mount the two filesystems on the NAND

Start copying files from /mnt2 - they should be there

Yes on the ram disk, all the files were actually in there that I needed.

I got the phone to boot!!! I had someone in an irc chat that*moved the contents of*/Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries to another folder, and the phone booted!!!! He asked me what I updated in Cydia, as we could probably nuke the items, but i couldn't remember, and then I asked why can't we just wipe it all out, and he liked my suggestion and it worked!

I think this would work for anyone with apple logo freezing issue after updating Cydia programs! We may have broke some ground here! I must have booted the phone 80 times and as soon as I moved that stuff out, it booted!

This is NOT the only solution for this type of problem. However, yes it is a common solution. There are some badly written mobilesubstrate addons out there.

Glad you got it working again.
