Hi everyone. I tried to find a section for snowbreeze but couldn't find it so I will post my situation here and I apologize if it is in the wrong section. A friend of mine has an iphone 3g that is working just fine on att with appropriate sim. He recently was given an iphone 3gs because his friend said he could not get it to work. I decided to do some research and had him give me the phone. I ran snowbreeze and found an ipsw for the 3gs that is 4.1. Snowbreeze did it's thing (i did simple install) and the phone works great after restoring in itunes the file snowbreeze made. When I gave my friend back the phone he said the sim from his original iphone 3g doesn't work. No sim error on the screen though. Is there something I did wrong and is this a fixable thing? I am very new to all of this so please be kind. I have a feeling there is an easy fix for this. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for all of your help everyone!

The reason why you could not find a sn0wbreeze section is that we refuse to recommend or support sn0wbreeze on this forum. Use pwnagetool instead.

However your problem sounds related to ultrasn0w. Is that installed? What baseband do you have?

Thanks so much for the reply! Ultrasn0w is not installed. Baseband is 05.15.04. I do not have access to an apple computer so I can't use pwnagetool, unfortunately. Any idea where I can go from here. I am perfectly fine not having the phone jailbroken (as is my friend) but I have no clue where to go from here. Neither of us have a backup to restore from anywhere since the phone was just given to him presumed broken. He took it to att and they said itunes and apple can't see it at all which is interesting as itunes sees it without issue on my system. If I try to restore in itunes without manually selecting an ipsw I get a 3194 error which, as I understand it, has to do with the apple servers and signatures. Thanks again to this awesome community and to you, olethros, for helping me out. I'm curious, how come sn0wbreeze isn't recommended on here? Not being inflammatory, just wondering. Thanks again!

Also, you WILL have problems restoring the phone, the existing solution required that you use pwnagetool custom IPSW. the recent release of greenpois0n may have made things a bit easier with this, once we get some test results from greenpois0n, I will update this thread below.
