there has now been a redsn0w beta update which fixes the mms/tethering problem and the call forwarding window it also eliminates the anoying "update carrier settings" everytime you open itunes.

take a look at
Dev-Team Blog

for the beta download and install over redsn0w but remember to uncheck the "install cydia" box

the new version is

redsn0w 0.9.5b-5

ps i am running a 8gb 3g jailbroken with redsn0w 0.9.5b-5 using oficial ios4.0 firmware with multitasking and wallpapers active and fully working.

I updated and I am still getting the error messages, are there preferred carrier settings to use? Here is what I am using now:

i am on o2-uk and the settings were updated automaticaly via itunes i did not have to touch network settings after overlaying reds0w update, all is now working well with no call forwarding messages and mms and tethering work (o2)

ps my phone is not unlocked as i am with o2 and got the phone from o2

bobsimes: reason is, that o2-uk owns an apple signed carrier bundle with "call forwarding = false". But the tethering APN is modem.o2.co.uk. Do you have o2-uk tethering plan or is it enabled after Redsnow 5 beta 5? Did you test it with your laptop?

no i dont have a tethering plan but the box is showing after the latest beta redsn0w where as it was not before the update and it would let me sign up to it if i wanted to (£9.95 per month)
