I´ve recently switched from Iphone 3G to 4. Right after that I´ve updated to iOS 4.2.1, unfortunately I failed gathering information about current jb options.

Now, I would like to jb with redsn0w 0.9.6b4, but first I would like to know, whether I will have to expect problems, once an untethered jb version has been released.

Anyone here to answer my question or give another recommendation?

Unlocking is not the point for me, because I have an official contract.

redsn0w 0.9.6b6 is latest version - however redsn0w 0.9.6b4 is sufficient for your needs.

If you are wondering, Chpwn is one of the people who worked on the jailbreakme.com jailbreak for iOS 4.0 and has written quite a few useful tweaks that are sold on Cydia.
