Default Recovery mode loop and wont restore

I think I may have bricked my iphone, or at the least have no idea how to fix it

I had an iphone 4 with 4.3 software.

I used Snowbreeze to create a custom firmware to try and tether jailbreak, and when i went to install it it said error 3194, i then decided to just restore the phone back to the original firmware, but I keep getting error 1013 even when using the apple firmware version. I deleted the ispw files in the iphone updates folder, I used tinyumbrella to kick it out recovery mode, I changed the usb port i was using, deleted and reinstalled itunes, I tried to put it in dfu mode instead and no luck with any of it (wouldnt go to dfu mode nor kick out of recovery mode). I just got this phone, it was originally on 4.3 (then even tried installing 4.3.1 on it to see if that would restore as the apples 4.3 firmware wouldnt). I get an 1013 error and that it can not be rstored.

Please help me. If I could just get it back to factory settings I would never ever try and jailbreak again (have with other older generations with no issue) if not is there anyway to repair it, like would apple fix it for a fee or a computer/phone repare store?

I am in Canada and got the phone through Tbaytel - Rogers, as well checked in drivers (or device manager in the properties of my computer) and where it should recognize the iphone doesnt but itunes keeps giving me the message it it is recovery mode and needs to be restored. Sometimes it kicks out too, like if plugged into usb it will randomly disappear from itunes than later pop back in there with the recovery mode message. I also deleted the gs.apple i added to the hosts file before trying to add the itunes firmware (got it via itunes after dleting the ispw files in the iphone updates folder)

and yes I am one of those who went to all different sites trying to do research but the ites i found were the ones people say are crap (i didnt know just saw several sites saying same thingg) like redmondpie

I have windows xp and the latest version of itunes...

sn0wbreeze is NOT supported on this forum.

Apple has now stopped signing 4.3 SHSH requests (this is the reason for the 3194 error).

As your phone is quite new (and you were too late to get a 4.2.1 SHSH) your options are VERY limited.

    This is your ONLY solution.
Remove gs.apple.com from the hosts file (the best method is to run TinyUmbrella, then go to the advanced tab, and un-tick "set hosts to Cydia on exit", click Apply then close TinyUmbrella again.

Verify this by opening the hosts file in notepad and checking that there is a # at the beginning of any line that refers to gs.apple.com

Then force the iPhone into DFU mode and then simply click the restore button in iTunes.

Things to note about DFU mode:
the timing is different when you cannot shut down the iPhone as the first step in entering DFU mode - I've explained this before - but it is basically hold down both until the phone reboots, then count 5-7 seconds and release the power button while keeping the home button depressed. If the screen comes on again, you held both buttons for too long.
The phone will only enter DFU mode when the phone is plugged into USB power (either via computer or with apple's charger) - make sure you have the phone connected to power via the 30pin dock connnector cable before you start the procedure.
If the battery is low, you may have problems with entering DFU mode, I always recommend performing this will a fully charged battery.

If that still doesn't work, publish your failed restore logs.

    THANK YOU SOOO MUCH

I had tried to put in dfu mode for hours last night with no luck, but your explanation really helped, the exact timing was my issue. When it finally went to dfu mode my heart just leaped. I then restored it, and while restoring the loading bar went further than where it stalled every other time. My heart went joyful again. I then got a message saying it sucessfully restored.

Though once phone restored there was a screen with the connect to itunes logo and slide for emergancy call... that made my heart sink again as was sure now it was a total write off, in the last fit of desperation notice itunes said "sync from backup" o a phone I had set up for a friend who just wanted some music (isnt computer savvy at all, and I am not either but a bit more so) so figured what else could go wrong and finally it synched and the home screen came back, everything works!

Its calling my phone Joe'sphone though and have all his contacts, do you think if i do another restore from apple it will cause an issue so can rename the pod as I am a female and not named Joe haha, or should I thank my lucky stars and not do another restore? I am never going near any 2nd party software ever again. Has this fixed all issues from the 2nd party software and is now totally wiped out or can that issue pop up again even if i never ever touch that or any other 2nd party software again?

One again thank you soooo much and I learned my lesson.

If you force it into DFU and restore again, then connect to iTunes when it says "slide for emergency", wait until iTunes activated the phone. Then choose "set up iPhone as new" instead of "restore from iTunes backup" - then you should be fine.
