What iOS version ...
Everything works like a charm... version is 4.2.1. As I told you I have never changed IOS version or BB. The phone originally came with 4.2.1 and I used PwnageTool 4.2.1 for jailbreaking/w activation thus leaving the same IOS and BB. After this JB (enough before 4.3 release) I have clicked in Cydia to save my SHSH (which is not shown in TinyUmbrella). Everything worked fine, but I wanted to give the phone and decided to delete all content, performing Reset (erase all data and settings) which brought me in this situation - endless connect to iTunes recovery mode. I could enter DFU mode, but after every flash/reboot it want back to recovery. On my Mac, where I originally performed JB with PwnageTool and iTunes, it was not possible to restore the IPSW without errors (virgin or custom 4.2.1 - I had no intention of changing versions). I googled and find out that it is worth trying using another machine (suggested by Apple also).

BTW, I would prefer if I could flash the original virgin 4.2.1 which would leave the phone in real factory default setting without the JB, but it is obviously not possible, i guess.
