I have an iphone 4 on 4.3.2 untethered and my mate hi-jacked my phone. He was impressed with the level of modifications I have installed and convinced me to do the same to his phone.
So I ran redsn0w rc15 and installed cydia. Once the phone was booted up, cydia was the white icon and wouldnt open. So I rebooted and it was stuck in a boot loop.
I booted into tethered mode, and ran the 4.2.1 untethered I ran when I upgraded my JB on my ip4, greenpoison.
No work, the JB completely failed, so I re-did it with Redsnow rc16 (latest version).
The device is STILL a tethered jailbreak.
I was under the impression he had the old boot rom, s/n xx017xxx, but on second guess, he has the new one?
Do I need to run an earlier version JB? Or do I need to do this: iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3GS Using PwnageTool (Mac) [4.1]
(i.e using a mac, create a custom ipsw and restore).
I also browserd over this thread: http://www.hackint0sh.org/f236/206197-2.htm#post693072 but doesnt seem to point me in the right direction.
I am not sure what shsh blobs he has saved, I will find out, but most likely only 4.2.1,
restoring really isnt an option as all his backups (if they exist) are 50km away on one of his mates computers.
Thanks in advance, I am pretty sure this is a boot rom issue, but I just really do not know.
