Exclamation [PwnageTool] [4.3.3] Weird problem with 4.3.3. Need help!

I recently upgraded two iPhone 4's from 4.0.2 to 4.3.3 using PwnageTool 4.3.3 so the baseband would stay the same. Everything went perfectly well, no problems at all.

Both phones worked flawlessly but after a full day of use, they began to show problems regarding to the 3G Connection. For some reason the connection is kind of intermitent, pretty much as if instead of being connected to a 3G network, they were connected to the WiFi and once they had enough time without being used, they would drop the connection from the 3G network (but the 3G sign is viewable at all times in the upper left corner).

Sometimes it doesn't matter if you pop the sim out, hard reboot the phone, etc 3G connection wont come back.. They seem to be having problems reconnecting to the 3G Network. Sometimes they do reconnect automatically. its pretty annoying, cause you only know you -don't- have internet, when you go and try to check your mail or open safari (since the 3G icon is always on).

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I am planning to take them back to a lower firmware (I have the SHSH blobs needed for that) but I am not sure which is the best method to downgrade.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
PS: They both have 1.59.00 as Baseband.

Are you using ultrasn0w to unlock them? Or just using an older baseband on a newer jailbroken iOS? Should help us determine. I remember there being some specific problems with the new iOS and some of the really, really old basebands.

As far as downgrading, tinyumbrella with your SHSH, and a custom iOS (to block baseband) and drop back down to 4.2.1 or so as a test. You'll still be able to drop down to 4.0.2 if you'd like, but you can test to see if you still experience the same problem on a newer iOS that isn't 4.3.x

Yes, I used ultrasn0w to unlock both of them. (Cydia)
This is the exact process I did:
    1) Downloaded the latest iOS
    2) Opened PwnageTool and created the Custom firmware
    3) Followed instructions to put it in DFU
    4) Restored through iTunes (opt + restore)
    Everything went perfectly well.

Regarding to downgrade: when you say custom iOS, you mean I should download the iOS I want to downgrade to, use PwnageTool to make a custom one out of it, and then using tinyumbrella? Or should I just use TinyUmbrella? been disconnected from the scene for a while. Is there a good guide out there for Downgrading iPhone 4's? I did some searching here and couldn't find it.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the help

Oh, sorry about that -- I misread as you using an iPhone 3G/S. The iPhone 4 CAN have the baseband upgrade blocked by using TinyUmbrella, so you're definitely able to do so without making the custom iOS.

As far as good guide, the iClarified jailbreak guide is pretty solid, but it's a 'best case' kind of guide -- if you encounter any errors during the process, it won't be of much help.

In either case, I'd say use TinyUmbrella and your SHSH to restore back to 4.2.1 and block the baseband upgrade, then see if Ultrasn0w works better on that baseband/iOS revision combination. I can't find the relevant post that I'm recalling, but I do seem to remember people complaining that running the latest iOS revisions on very old basebands were causing a lot of problems for them.
