[Problem] Facetime Activation SMS to UK

My ip4 was purchased factory unlocked in Canada.

My Apple approved provider (Claro Argentina) seems to have the facetime activation procedure missconfigured, there are plenty of threads on the net about this problem.

So, Im trying to solve the problem the hacker way, I mean, if the only thing the iphone does to activate facetime is to send an SMS to the UK what I need to know is how this SMS message is formed to send one manually.

The big question is, does anyone knows this facetime activation sms format?

Contact pushfix @ MiTime.info | FaceTime® for unofficial carriers. - there is no one else who has a better understanding of the SMS issues with facetime activation.

It is more than just the SMS, if you have jailbroken before you let iTunes activate the phone - or if you restored from an iTunes backup of another phone that was hacktivated then you will not be able to get facetime to work.

Also. If your carrier is apple approved, then bug them to fix this.

It is not enough to simply know the SMS number, you cannot replicate the activation by manually sending a SMS to that number. Most likely your local carrier is unable to deliver the SMS response from that number (there are a number of reasons why they might not be able to do this)

As i said earlier, complain to Claro. They can work with Apple to publish a carrier bundle for Claro that uses a different SMS number for activation. AT&T and some other carriers don't use the UK number for facetime activation.

I spoke with them many times, yesterday a rep called me about the problem telling me it was apple who needs to fix this, FYI is very uncommon to get a Claro call about a problem. So its really apple who needs to fix this, but apple does not solve it... and we the users are in the middle...

Lets hope for the best...

according to the wiki I should see something at /var/wireless/spool/MobileOriginated/ when I try to activate facetime but I see nothing there
