NO Native apps
i have spent about 4 hrs researching online, few other people same problem, no results.
so i come to you hackint0sh. i did a search and found nothin here. let me preface this by saying ive jailbroken 10+ iphones successfully and recovered ipad radio attemps and u name it. but this one is killin me.
I jailbroke a iphone 4 4.1 using redsn0w. afterwards there was a ton of junk still on the phone so i did a reset > erase all content and settings
when it returned, all native apps are missing, and on the second page the only single app i have is cydia. no settings/sms/phone/camera etc.
SO...i try to reflash the original 4.1 and of course i hit error 3194. researched the world out of 3194 unsigned cert, cant really find a good fix. not downgrading, not looking to upgrade to 4.2.1. just want my original 4.1 back. have no shsh blobs either.
Thanks for reading, i hope im wrong theres a easy fix that i missed on here
No SHSH blobs means zero chance of ever restoring to iOS 4.1
The behaviour you referred to is very strange, are you sure you did an erase all content and settings? Not just an erase all settings?
yeah i deff did that reset and trust me i was shocked to see every native app missing as well. i was hoping id be able to restore the ios in pwnd DFU mode but i keep getting 3194 over and over again. I had just recovered a 3GS that was running a 3194 with a custom ipsw i had found on a torrent.
Any ideas, anyone? there has gotta be a way!
What you want to do is *nearly* impossible.
Technically (because you still have some parts of iOS 4.1 installed on the iPhone) you do have some options, but none of the public tools will help you.
The two ideas I have:
- Patch the ramdisk to bypass the NOR flashing routines (i'm not even sure if this is possible any more)
- Try and get an early test version of the SHSH extractor that ih8sn0w is developing.
My suggestion: get on IRC and try to get some help from ih8sn0w (I know I usually criticise his tools, but he's working on a SHSH extractor - to read the SHSH that is currently written on your iPhone)
Via the public tools, you are limited to restoring to iOS 4.2.1 (there is an unofficial pwnagetool bundle that will prevent your baseband from being updated)
This is why we say you should always save your SHSH (the most important thing you can do)
The only reason the 3GS worked was that it was an old bootrom 3GS and your custom IPSW uses the 24kpwn exploit to patch the SHSH checks out of the NOR. This is NOT possible with the iPhone 4 (or even a new bootrom 3GS)
