hi guys im new here just wondering if anyone can help here is my situation i have an iphone 3gs on 4.3.3 firmware with as you probably know a baseband of 05.16.02. i am looking to using a virgin mobile simcard . what are my options with regard to unlock so any carrier being used i do not really want to go down the route of having the ipad baseband as a pemanent fix if possible. many thanks
Is this possible? Virgin mobile works off CDMA and the only iPhone capable of that is the Verizon iPhone 4. Other than using one that phone I am not too sure it will work with a 3gs. I could be wrong tho.
If the phone is locked to another UK carrier, then you can probably request an official unlock (will cost a few ££ if the phone is still on contract). If the phone came from USA and is locked to AT&T your only option is iPad baseband.
