No Apps/Icons in Multitasking Drawer after Jailbreak iOS4 on 3GS
When I doublepress the home button and the multitasking drawer opens up, it appears to be empty. I can tell this is a problem because when i use SBSettings and check the running processes, I see many apps are still running. At the very least i should see iPod controls in the drawer.
This wasnt always the case, I know that right when i finished jailbreaking (before i synced all my apps over iTunes) i did see iPod controls and SMS in the drawer (those were the only 2 apps i tried before doing that initial sync). I then synced over any apps i had but failed to install anything that was from /*I'm a Pirate*/ (depending on /*I'm a Pirate*/). That was expected. I THINK (not sure really) that when the official apps loaded i was still able to have apps appear in the multitasking drawer. Then I installed AptBackup from Cydia and tried to 'restore all'. I manually chose /*I'm a Pirate*/and /*I'm a Pirate*/ from Cydia because I noticed that they didn't install after the 'restore all'. I then synced again with iTunes. Now I got all my /*I'm a Pirate*/ apps back on the phone. This is when i checked the multitasking drawer again and i didnt have any icons!
So I am going to assume its one of the Cydia packages thats giving me this issue. I was hoping someone here might have a clue as to which package might cause this. Here is the output of 'cat /var/lib/dpkg/status | grep Package: | awk -F: '{print $2}' | sort':

EDIT: I just noticed that the package for /*I'm a Pirate*/ looks like its still installed which is probably a bad thing. any idea of how to remove that package without cydia? cydia doesn't show it as installed.
EDIT 2: Now I'm not really sure what is going on with that package, I am trying to use dpkg to remove it but this is what i get when i try to find out the status of that package
Code:
**********-iPhone:~ root# dpkg -s /*I'm a Pirate*/
Package: /*I'm a Pirate*/
Status: install ok not-installed

Reason: We do not condone piracy here. Don't post about it again.

I just had same problem. Try removing winterboard. That worked for me

thank you haxxxess! wow i thought this was way more complicated of an issue. thanks so much for your help!

Other solutions?
I also have the same problem so I removed Winterboard. Apparently my problem is caused by another app or something because I'm still missing the icons in the multitask bar (iPhone 3GS iOS 4.0.1).
Any more ideas?

We do not support piracy here nor will we support pirates, nor attempt to help pirates fix problems caused by the installation of pirate software or software that promotes or condones piracy. The patches that allow this are unsafe, unreliable, and have been known to cause any number of issues relating to the use of legitimate applications on the device. This is one of the risks you take when you chose to pirate apps on the device and one we cannot assist in resolving (other than to tell you that we recommend you fully wipe the device and restore the OS, re-jailbreak, and do not install those tools). I can appreciate this is likely not the answer you were looking for.
I'm glad you got your issue straightened out with the missing buttons, but in the future, please read the forum rules before you post. We do not allow or condone the discussion of piracy or pirate related apps.
The apps on the Cydia app store and the apps in the Apple App store are extremely cheap. A lot of the developers who create these apps frequent these forums and read these posts -- the same people you're stealing from.
