I have been out of touch of the Iphone jailbreaking and unlocking arena since 2 years now..... i desperately need your help. I have been trying to search all over but couldnt find any substantial evidence about the unlock which was posted recently.

I have a OTB iphone 4-4.2.1-3.10.01(already jailbroken) and need to unlock it(currently locked on AT & T). Can you please guide me on what are the options I have...any upgrade/downgrade of firmware or bb would be ok..as long as I can unlock it...

There isnt Any software unlock for your baseband, can only use if you want a gevey sim

Thanks for your response. I was trying to avoid Gevey? No way to upgrade baseband and then software unlock it????
If not, What happens if I upgrade my firmware through custom ipsw? Would i still be able to use Gevey?

if you update the firmware using custom firmware then will be able to unlock, because you will not update the baseband that way, but for 5.0.1 the latest firmware now the jailbreak is tethered, and you need jailbreak for unlocking with gevey .The best option would be to have shsh saved for 4.3.3 (the latest firmware with untether jailbreak), if not would recommend to keep the current firmware

Thanks for your response. This is helpful. So let me reiterate my understanding. Any firmware above 4.3.3 (including 4.3.5) requires a tether jailbreak. However Gevey can only be done on a untether jailbreak. So its safe only to upgrade to 4.3.3 and then use a gevey?

Are we expecting a software unlock for 3.10.01 anytime in future?

All of us are waiting at the moment...
