Surprised you couldn't find a thread about this, it's pretty much asked at least 3-4 times a week. In any case, plug in your phone, right click, tell it to back up. Upgrade to the latest iOS and your data won't change. Your choices for backing up your Cydia packages are relegated to a few pay apps in Cydia (AptBackup, PackageBackup, etc.) I've never had much luck with them so I just write down the 10-15 packages and queue and install them after jailbreaking. Now that Cydia allows package queuing, this usually only takes one cycle of downloads to get all of my Cydia packages back.

In any case, this has been discussed many times on the forum and there are other threads with more detailed info, so I'm closing the thread.
