I've tried greenpois0n, redsn0w, limera1n, PwnageTool, so i'm either doing something wrong (this is very likely) or none of them are working, and it's impossible to jailbreak my iPhone software/firmware/whatever it is, at this time. Can anyone give me any help? I broke my old iPhone so I traded it in with my warranty and got a new one that was fully updated, and I need a phone. Thanks!


p.s i'm also trying to unlock it so i can use my T-Mobile sim.

Well, you've managed to leave out all of the important information we would need in order to answer your question .

1) What iOS revision is the device you're using on?
2) Is the device a new bootrom or an old bootrom? (I'm about 99.99995% sure it's new bootrom, but it's worth asking)
3) Have you connected to TinyUmbrella to see what (if any) SHSH are on file for the 3GS?
4) What baseband revision is the device you're using on?

That was a very stupid thing to do (update through iTunes) makes your job much harder.

Do some searching/research - we explain what TinyUmbrella and SHSH is every day here at hackintosh.

Yes you should always run TinyUmbrelka as pretty much the first thing you do when you get an iPhone, even ifyou don't intend to jailbreak.

What TinyUmbrella does is:

Allow you to backup SHSH for iOS versions where Apple is still allows this. The SHSH is an unique signature (unique to your phone and a specific iOS version)

Check what iOS version and baseband that are currently on the phone even though you are stuck on the slide for emergency screen

I have the new bootrom....

I have also tried redsn0w and sn0wbreeze..... I was able to create a IPSW in sn0wbreeze and get the device in recovery mode but every time I tried to restore the IPSW that sn0wbreeze created I get error 3194....
I have tinyumbrella but I am not sure how to use to aid in me jailbreeaking this device....
Also by the way... the device is not activated... evasi0n wouldn't jailbreak it due it not being activated.... redsn0w stated that it didn't support my version of the iphone 3gs...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
