Will need a bit more information to help:

    1) What version iOS is your iPhone running?
    2) What jailbreaking tool did you use to jailbreak?

Let us know and we should be able to assist.

The user hasn't mentioned which iOS version they have.

tethered boot is ONLY required for iOS 4.2.1 - using the tethered boot option on older iOS versions can cause more problems.

    That is so easy
Connect your phone to i tunes and Press power and home for ten seconds, then keep pressing home only for 20 seconds then i tunes will detect the phone. I tunes will take over the work to restore your telephone back to a new phone. after you can restore to your last back up

Without knowing what iOS revision he's on, the instructions simsim15 gave may be very, very bad. If he follows the prompts in iTunes, he will upgrade the device to 4.2.1 which cannot be unlocked right now and has only a tethered jailbreak -- without the answers to the two questions I asked to begin with, we cannot troubleshoot and any further information will likely serve to either confuse the OP or send him down the wrong path.

Again, I'll ask -- what version of iOS is the phone running, and what tool did you use to jailbreak?
