One neat and much needed addition to beta 3: The ability to lock the portrait orientation. To enable it, double-click on Home button and then swipe your finger to the right, across the multi-tasking bar. Tap on the left most icon (a grey icon with a circulating arrow) and that will keep the iphone orientation lock to portrait mode.

If you're a developer, you can go copy the link for Xcode and the SDK for Beta 2, change all the 2s to 3s and paste ... it seems to work, but I won't be sure if it's Beta 3 until all 2gb are downloaded. Hopefully this will work.

Update, the same thing seems to work with the direct link for the Beta 3 (if you're a developer) and you change the build version to the correct one. It's working for me.

So if I pay to become a Dev, and I register my UDID, then I get Beta 3? Does it have all the functionality like making calls, running apps, etc?

Yes, you can register yourself and pay the developer fee or you can find someone to register your phone in their account. There are many people in the forum willing to register other peoples iPhones in exchange of a small "donation" like 5 dollars.

Hello, I am new to this site however have read your comment over bugs and OS4.

I have OS4.3 on my iPhone and I am unable to back my data up via iTunes.. :-(

I am running a Mac btw..

You must install beta SDK as well.

Hello I have a problem with my iPhone with os 4 beta 3, my phone does not have internet connection, the 3G simbol appears but no internet, any idea to solve this?

Go to /Users/YOUR_USER/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/

Backup a folder called "Backup" to a .zip file

Inside "Backup" contain your backups on iTunes

For default main/bugger backup is first there. Delete a folder with name "b4..." that's a first folder inside "Backup" folder.

Try Backup and restore now. For me it's worked.

i have iphone 3gs and now iam running an os 4.0 beta ok thats mean my udid is registered
i am a mac user and running mac os x 10.5.8
i have beta 2 and beta 3 operating systems
i do not have x code or sdk for beta or beta 2 or beta 3 ok
ok here is the problem
when i try to update form beta to beta 2 or beta 3 it wont itunes just stop working but when i restore ok it complete the installation but when i open it its says that iam not a developer for both beta 2 or beta 3 ok so i downgrade again to OS 3.1.3 then upgrade again to beta
now i wanna to install the beta 3
how i can do that please help !!!!!!
