    Unhappy iPhone 4 tried updating to 4.3.5 using tinyumbrella CANNOT RESTORE Recovery mode

    So here's the thing, I was out of the iphone unlock scene for a while and after my phone started crashing I decided to update to 4.3.5 instead of restoring my 4.1 ispw which is unlocked on 1.59.00. I didn't realize the jailbreak out is tethered, and that the last untethered jailbreak is for 4.3.3. So after using tinyumbrella to update by restoring on itunes to 4.3.5 I am stuck in recovery mode and I've tried EVERYTHING and nothing is working. How can I get down to 4.3.3?

    Fixed: First I remembered the hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc needs to have sauriks server. So I went on to delete everything at the bottom until it looked like this:

    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    # ::1 localhost
    0.0.0.0 .psf
    0.0.0.0 psf
    #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

    Saved it, opened itunes with tinyumbrella open and went on to restore to 4.3.3.

    Got 10xx error afterwards, click exit recovery on tinyumbrella but apple logo kept flashing and cycle booting.

    Went ahead and used fixrecovery421.exe and then fixrecovery43.exe. Voila! I got to the start screen.

    Went ahead and used redsn0w redsn0w_win_0.9.8b5 to jailbreak and still on 01.59.00.

    Good to know I've still got the touch

  3. Thanks ili thanked for this post.

    This was a stupid thing to do (sorry I just had to say it)
    Have you saved any SHSH blobs for prior iOS versions? Without a saved SHSH blob, there is no way to downgrade again.
    TinyUmbrella is the tool to check what SHSH blobs you might have saved with Cydia.
