    Default iPhone 4

I have never tried anything like this before and I hear some people say it can be done and others say it's not safe for iPhone 4 yet. I want to try it but I do not want to mess up my phone. Any advise?

Wow, buddy you sure do sound like a newbie.

First of all, what is the baseband on your phone right now?

To find this, simply go to settings>general>scroll down until you reach "modem firmware"

What you see in this column will determine wether or not you can unlock your iphone.
If its a jailbreak ONLY you need, then that is fairly easy to do and WILL NOT mess up your phone. A quick restore can fix many issues. Hope this helps.
