Well.. you have no saved SHSH before 4.2.1 (I checked)

might be able to try this technique: PwnStrap - I haven't tested it, and I suspect it will only work for you with iOS 4.2.1 (due to SHSH requirements)

is that a windows app? i have both 7 and xp, i just restored the phone again, but as soon as the phone went to sleep it went back to the yellow screen when i tried the boot tethered and it stays on the yellow screen also.

Update: i found the instructions, they say to put the phone in recovery mode, but i cant neither get it on recovery mode nor boot it up

    wait a minute here.
I read from the beginning and the thread is utterly convoluted.
You have a 3GS, new bootrom, baseband 06.15.00.
You hit erase / reset phone and now you are stuck at the apple.
Now you cannot restore to stock 4.2.1 because of the baseband 06.15.00 and you can't restore to earlier firmware such as 4.1 because you don't have SHSH for 4.1.

So now you are trying to figure out a way to boot up this device ?.

Also, in previous post, you mentioned that you used a custom firmware 4.2.1 to restore to this device (this custom 4.2.1 is probably for 3gs with old bootrom and you restore to your new bootrom device ? )

kind of, i wanted to delete everything from the phone when i had it jailbroken n unlocked at 4.1, so it erased everything including the ios, so i did the restore with custom 4.2.1 with baseband 6.15 and when im able to restore after a while it just shuts down n stays in dfu mode and gives em the yellow screen

How the heck did you create custom 4.2.1 with baseband 6.15 ? Are you sure it's not 4.1 with baseband 6.15 ?

What firmware is ON the phone right now ?

i downloaded a custom 4.2.1, which is the one on the phone rite, but the phone went back to dfu mode again n is not turning on, only way to restore it again is to take the battery out for an hour n then put it back together n restore it, but im tired of doing that cuz after a while it goes back to dfu mode n wont boot up

    Something is really fishy here,
    1. There is no official way to create a custom 4.2.1 with baseband 6.15.00 upgrade

    2. The only official way to have a custom firmware with baseband 6.15.00 is firmware 4.1

    3. The only official way to have custom firmware 4.2.1 without baseband upgrade is only for 3GS old bootrom

    4. Who knows what custom firmware 4.2.1 you downloaded. This is a no no when it comes to downloading custom firmware floating around. Who knows what's in it and if it was created correctly.

    - my suspicion is you did #3 which is for an old bootrom and you applied it to your new bootrom.

    Well ...
The custom firmware 4.2.1 for 3gs old bootrom (no baseband update) should work on your device but it will be a tether-boot.

To restore the custom firmware, put the phone in "pwned dfu mode" using redsn0w, then use itunes to restore using the custom firmware.

When done, the phone will reboot.

At this point, the phone should boot up to springboard but you will will not have Cydia installed (because the pwnage bundle for 4.2.1 3GS is a simple bundle)

Here, you would need to run redsn0w again, select firmware 4.2.1, select cydia and follow through steps.
Your iphone will reboot and boot up with a full functioning cydia at this point (white cydia icon)

Now you need to run redsn0w again, select firmware 4.2.1, select just tetherboot right now and follow throug steps.
At the next reboot, your cydia will be functional

Everytime you turn off the phone or reboot the phone, you will have to do the tetherboot again.

That is the ONLY thing you can do at this time.

** what i describe above is based on Official Dev TEam released pwnage bundle for 3gs 4.2.1. If you are using something else then I don't know **
