Default iPhone 3gs stuck at apple logo

My 3gs gets stuck at the apple logo. Its not a big problem because i just go into dfu mode and open redsn0w and boot tethered and it seems to fix it. It only seems to do this when I turn the phone off completely and then boot it. Is there anything that i can do to fix this i am using a 3gs and firmware 4.2.1

There is no solution for this that is available to the general public yet. Save your 4.2.1 SHSH and Wait. There are two different solutions being tested right now, the one that will work for everyone probably won't be released until after iOS 4.3 is released.

For what it's worth, this is expected behavior from a "tethered" jailbreak, opposed to an "untethered" as have been previously provided by other jailbreak software for other versions of iOS. For the version of iOS you have and the hardware you have, as Olethros said your only option is to get your 4.2.1 SHSH on file and keep booting the phone via the tethered boot option in redsn0w and waiting for new the new iOS revisions and future exploit releases.

Just wanted to clarify the terminology so you could be aware of it in the future.
