Iphone 3G very slow since 4.1 VERY . . .
Is there any way to downgrade the phone back to lets say 3.0 or even 2.x since i think it was really fast back then i just need the phone to be quick, i dont really need all these fancy things, Currently the Phone is Jail broken and Unlocked and has firmware 4.1
Please let me know , you guys are the experts i made a big mistake updating it to the latest jail (4.1) i know the latest is really 4.2 or 4.3
Since you're on a 3G you should be able to restore any 3.x iOS in DFU mode since there aren't SHSH checks on the 3G for 3.x iOS revisions. Follow the directions in the forum elsewhere for putting the device in DFU mode, restore to a previous iOS revision, 3.1.2 (or 4.2.1, frankly. 4.1 specifically has some issues on the 3G as far as performance goes and 4.2.1 is much better, but if you do, resist the temptation to turn multitasking on, the iPhone 3G was *not* built with that in mind and you'll just bog your phone down repeatedly) and then jailbreak following the directions for that iOS revision.
Just make sure if you upgrade to 4.2.1 that you ONLY do so with a custom ipsw from PwnageTool so that you block the baseband update or your options as far as unlocking goes will be extremely unpleasant!
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.
