    Default iphone 3G restore failure ALL FWs!!

    I would love some help with this as I have tried unsuccessfully to restore functionality to my iPhone 3G. I have tried restoring to 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, and 4.0.2 without success. Restore freezes every time. Problems arose when trying to "upgrade" from a jailbroken 3.1.2 FW using Redsnow. Now I'm just trying to get the phone unbricked. Here is my latest restore log:

    2010-09-08 13:56:17.000 iTunes - Iphone 3G iOS4.0.2 restore failure - TuF2utRs - Pastebin.com

    Thank you very kindly in advance.

    Bruce

    Are you sure this is the whole log file?

    Can't make a 100% diagnosis based on that log file. The restore log you posted is hanging at the waiting for NAND stage. As explained in other similar threads, I don't know of a solution for that specific problem.

    However the log file also indicates that a previous restore hung much later in the restore process. So... I can't be sure.

    Put the phone into DFU mode and try restoring 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 - if it fails, post the restore log.

    @brbell01 First,

    Did you trying original IPSW or custom IPSW?

    Do you have saved your SHSH via Cydia/Umbrella?

    Do you try Restore IPSW in DFU more?

    For the last way, try update iTunes to latest version and try using other user on PC/Mac to restore.

    Goodluck,

    Looks to me like a USB connection problem, try another PC/cable.
