Iphone 3G baseband info without activation???
Hello all, new to the forum and to the whole unlock/jailbreak world.
I purchased a 3g unlocked but when the previous owner went to wipe all the data
it also re-locked the phone I think.
I am stuck on the activation screen with no way to get past.
I am trying to find out what firmware and baseband it is on so I know what I would
need to do to unlock this again.
I did some searching and found f0recast v1.3 but it doesn't seem to see my phone.
I get some kind of error in windows about JIT bugging before it loads.
I aslo tried running tinyumbrella and that also does not work.
I am running on windows 7 64 bit ( not sure if that makes a difference)
Thanks in advance for any help!
Dave

If TinyUmbrella and f0recast don't work, I hate to say I really don't know what to recommend.... What happens when you try TinyUmbrella? f0recast is kind of picky and old, so I'm not surprised it doesn't work, but TU should work.

Got it, didn't have itunes on this computer so had no divers, got it working
Question though it says it has 5.14.04 and that to unlock it has to updated to the ipad baseband. Should that not be already done if this phone was previously unlocked?
Or does restoring the phone remove that?

No way to remove the iPad baseband, so if it had been upgraded previously it would still be on 06.15.00. That said, it's possible it was unlocked on one of the previous basebands and upgrading it recently would have pushed the latest (and not unlockable) baseband on it, thus making it so you would need to use the iPad baseband to unlock.
