i had my iphone jailbroke and i when to restore it (i now know this was a dumb idea) and now i get stuck at the screen where it shows the cord on it, itunes gives me that error that says the sim card i am using is not supported im assuming that when i restored it that itunes put the newfirm ware on it, is there any fix for this at all? or a way to jailbreak the new firmware

or just a way to unlock it so i can use it as a legit iphone, i dont care if its jailbroken or not, i just dont want to be left with a paperweight, lol

You may be past the point of no return, depending on a few things.

First thing to try is download Firmware Umbrella, plug your phone in, and click 'Kick device out of recovery mode'. If your phone then reboots back to normal, you're fine (in that you won't have to restore in order to get your phone working again).

At present, if you don't have an SHSH on file (if you don't know what it is, there's 99.99% chance you don't have it) for the previous firmwares (3.1.2, 3.1.3), you will be unable to downgrade them. On your hardware (3GS), iOS 4.0 cannot be jailbroken while running -- so if you restore to factory iOS 4.0, you will be locked and jailed until new tools come out that can jailbreak a running iOS 4.0.

Also, you cannot software unlock the iPhone (any model) at present without jailbreaking, just so you know. So, you'll need to jailbreak first, then unlock second.

hello im new to this page and i read this post, i had the same problem lastnight the problem is that ur stuck in recovery mode and u need to be kick out of it. what u have to do is get tinyumbrella from here The Firmware Umbrella i know its for shsh blobs but it has this tab were it kick u out of recovery i hope it helps

When it kicks you out of the recovery, does it take you back to the home screen? thanks

yes it suppose to unless wen restoring or backing up it mess up ur current fw then ur gona have to restore to newer fw like n1ckn4m3 sad to get it working again, i think if u did mess up u have to update to fw 4.0.1 and save ur shsh blobs to get it JB l8z on.
