First and foremost, you're mixing terminology. Read this before going any further so that you make sure you know what you're talking about:
http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/32703.htm
Second, once you erase all content and settings, you have to successfully restore a version of iOS to the device before you can do anything else with it. We cannot stress enough that it is almost never wise to 'erase all content and settings', it's almost never what people actually want to do.
Do you know anything about SHSH files? If not, read the link in my signature about it. Odds are you don't have yours, so you may only be able to restore to iOS 4.3.5. Let us know what SHSH files you have stored (use TinyUmbrella to get them), and that will let us know what we can do to help.
Last but not least, you mention greenpois0n as an unlock, but it's a jailbreak. Also, if you ARE interested in an unlock, I want to be clear -- you should *NEVER* erase all content and settings unless you have the SHSH file. As it stands, you are most likely stuck with a device that will only work on iOS 4.3.5 and most likely has a baseband that cannot be unlocked with ultrasn0w...
Strong recommendation is to look before you leap, especially when playing with the new iPhones and their iOS revisions. You can very quickly (and oft-times permanently) do something that ruins your ability to jailbreak or unlock for a very long time.

If you're just looking for hacktivation (and not to unlock), you can restore 4.3.5 to the phone, then use redsn0w to jailbreak and hacktivate the phone without need of a Gevey/Rebel SIM. Alternately, if you have a SIM for the network that the phone is locked to, just restore to 4.3.5 and stick that in and let it legitimately activate -- that will save you issues with push notifications, etc. in the future. Even if you're not using an alternate carrier, if you use redsn0w to hacktivate, you'll encounter issues in the future relating to the hacked activation. We recommend people use SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) or PushFix to resolve these issues. As I recall, PushFix costs a little, as it's generating certs for you, where SAM is free and works in just about all cases.
