I need help jailbreaking 4.3.1
I got an iphone 4 on 4.3.1 and saved my shsh blobs with tiny umbrella. i have a mac and followed the instructions on redmondpie to jailbreak with a custom firmware/ pwnagetool.
i made the firmware and everything but whenever i try to restore i go into DFU and alt(option) restore in itunes but it gives me error 1600 (yes i am in DFU) i tried going into my pc to run ireb and put it in a pwned dfu state but then it gives me an error 1. any other help??
Redmondpie is NOT a trusted source of iPhone information.
The only public jailbreaks available for 4.3.1 are "failbreaks" made by people who use semi-automated "smart patchers" to make a non official pwnagetool bundle for 4.3.1
All these failbreaks are missing some key patches that mean some tweaks can't work. It is strongly recommended you wait until the proper kernel patches for 4.3 and 4.3.1 are made public by comex (or another trusted member of the iPhone dev team of the chronic dev team)
We don't support or recommend iREB (or any ih8sn0w) software here. Use redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 to enter pwned DFU mode.

I couldn't agree more. I've seen nothing but posts this weekend about people having problems jailbreaking 4.3.1 -- when they never should have upgraded at all. You're on your own when it comes to the ih8sn0w tools, just search the forum for 'ih8sn0w' to see just how many problems people have when they use these tools. As Olethros mentioned, not only do you risk causing problems with your device -- but the actual jailbreaks themselves are EXTREMELY suspect and more often than not just do not work. We can't stress this point enough:

3) If you use an ih8sn0w tool and you have problems, we're very sorry, but we cannot support you. Your best bet is to re-flash the factory firmware (preferably without installing the latest baseband unless you already have) and wait for a proper jailbreak.
Not trying to be callous, but we hear this and these types of things *every day*, and people keep trying to use these tools, keep having problems, keep bootlooping their devices, keep having unstable jailbreaks, etc. If you want your device to work, patience is a true virtue and something you will need to have, or else you end up on the wrong iOS revision without SHSH's on file and unable to downgrade or jailbreak....
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.
