Hi,

I am trying to jailbreak my iphone 4 and unlock it as well. When I was in the process of jailbreaking using redsnow and restoring to custom ipsw 5.0.1, itunes popped up error 10. TO add to my woes, my iphone 4 is currently in recovery mode and I am unable to exit it even using tiny umbrella.

My iphone 4 configuration is

Capacity: 14 GB

I am using redsnow 0.9.9b9d and tinyumbrella-5.10.14.

Here is a brief summary of what I tried to do:
I generated a custom ipsw for my iphone referencing IOS 5.0.1 IPSW using redsnow. Then I put my iphone on Pwned DFU mode and tried to restore my iphone to the custom ipsw that was generated. When I tried to jailbreak my iphone by restoring it to the custom ipsw using ITunes on my Windows XP machine, I got error 10 and my iphone went into recovery mode. From this point on, I was not able to exit the recovery mode even while using tiny umbrella.

When I read some articles on the internet, I found that the reason for error 10 may be because of using an old ITunes version (My machine had ITunes 10.2). So I upgraded my ITunes and tried to repeat the restoring step - Now I was getting error 2005.

Can someone kindly suggest on how can I fix this issue and successfully jailbreak and unlock my iphone 4.

Simply change your USB cable from hub to main or from main to hub.
