Do you have the Group Messaging option turned on under Settings -> Messages -> Group Messaging? If so, then here's how you use that functionality:

How To Create An iPhone 4 Text Message Group

If the option doesn't appear at all, let us know -- I know previously in one of the other threads you mentioned you had used Supreme Preferences -- this and other software that directly manipulates the Settings.app can cause sporadic issues. Is Supreme Preferences still installed on your device?

I'm finding out that support for this is actually provided through the carrier profile -- for example, AT&T's carrier profile allows for SMS messaging groups and grouping, so the option appears when the phone is activated on the AT&T network and running the AT&T network profile. I don't know enough to know whether you'd want to be looking at the APN settings or whether this could be fixed with a mobileconfig/carrier bundle/.ipcc for your specific carrier, but I'd think that would be the way you'd want to look.

so, i would have to look for .ipcc file for my carrier to try and fix that? Also, would you happen to know who can email me these files for version 4.0.2. Or could i like go upgrade to 4.2.1 preserving the baseband, activate it with the att mini sim i have, turn the option on and then unlock and put my tmobile sim in, since the on would be saved on the group messaging option?

Also, would you happen to know who can email me these files for version 4.0.2.
    They are under /Applications/Preferences.app
    HomeButton.plist
    General.plist
    Settings-iphone.plist
    Settings-ipod.plist

since the supreme preferences took away my settings on my phone?

PS: i see on your signatur u have an iphone on 4.2.1, do u have it unlocked with baseband 1.59 or with att? If unlocked, i see u have saved your 4.0.2 and 4.1 shsh blobs, my question is, is there anyway for you to send me those blobs so i can use them to go to 4.1 and preserve the baseband on my phone? Another thing, do u know by any chance if iblacklist works well on 4.2.1, i really need this app, thats why i havent decided to go to 4.2.1, because i dont know it works with it.

It is a lot of question, i would appreciate any answers u could gimme on any of them. Sorry

    1) Hate to say I don't know where to find an .ipcc / carrier bundle / etc. would be for your carrier. Sorry about that . Check Cydia to see if a bundle exists first, then google as a second.
    2) Can't provide you files from iOS specifically, it is copyrighted and we are prohibited from distributing it. You can, however, download the .ipsw and use the available tools to decrypt it with the decryption keys posted on the wiki to extract the files yourself.
    3) I'm running 4.2.1 on the most current baseband, since I'm in at least another 1 year with AT&T (and I was having radio issues with my previous baseband), I went ahead and just let it upgrade to the most current. Past that, SHSH blobs are per phone, per user, per device, per iOS. Mine would not work for your phone under any circumstance -- that's one of the most common misconceptions surrounding SHSH. The short answer is that if you don't have them and Apple isn't signing, you can no longer get them. iH8sn0w is working on a tool that will extract the SHSH blobs for the currently running version from the phone, but there is no idea when that will be released. There really is no workaround for this, unfortunately.
    4) I am running 4.2.1 and I've had no problems with the main programs I use (iFile, TetherMe, Safari Download Manager, SBSettings, psx4all, DOSPad, ScummVM) seem to work fine. I stay away from some of the crazier packages because I've been playing with iPhones for long enough to realize that the more in depth it is, the more likely it is to screw my phone up during an iOS upgrade.

I don't know if iBlacklist works well on 4.2.1 unfortunately as it's not something that I use, but I can confirm that it is consistently updated so there is a very high chance that it will work for you.

damn, ok, last question, u have helped me a lot, i appreciate it, on windows to prevent baseband upgrade i have to use tiny umbrella, i know that already, now, what about mac? Can i use pwnagetool 4.1 to cook a custom IPSW, and i saw last nite when i was playing with the tool, there's an option that says enable baseband update, which u can leave uncheck, so, with that written, could i go to 4.1 or restore to the same 4.0.2 i have with pwnage toll and itunes only, no tiny umbrella, AND preserve my 1.599 baseband?

100% correct. You can use pwnagetool to cook a custom IPSW on the mac that does not upgrade the baseband, but remember that you can only restore a custom .ipsw on the iPhone4 if you are in "Pwned DFU" mode, so ensure that the tool you're using is the right tool for the job. Regular DFU mode on an iPhone 4 will NOT restore a custom .ipsw.

    Olethros--
If you're reviewing, keep me honest. I've been away from the scene for a month and a lot has changed in my absence I am assuming that PwnageTool is still the best bet to cook an .ipsw without the baseband and that that will work for an iPhone 4, but remember some of the problems that had previously been detailed with running iOS 4.2.1 with previous basebands and vice versa.

no, but im gonna use pwnage tool to cook a custom IPSW 4.1 to restore to 4.1, understand? So, would that be possible without upgrading the baseband, by just using pwnage tool and itunes? also, does pwnage tool puts the iphone 4 on "Pwned DFU" mode?

I don't believe that Pwned DFU mode bypasses the SHSH check and as I recall, you do not have a 4.1 SHSH. Without that, there is *no* workaround to reinstall iOS 4.1 on your device...
