Default Downgrade iOS 4.1 to 4.0.2

    Hi
I have an iPhone 4, with iOS 4.1 (Updated with custom pwnage tool IPSW, with baseband 1.59)
It is not working very well, and I wanted to know if I can safely downgrade to 4.0.2 (I have SHSH blobs saved)
    Thanks

Yes.. with SHSH blobs you can always downgrade. Be sure to use TinyUmbrella's TSS server to help you downgrade. Surprised to hear it isn't working too well though. What are your symptoms?

I have also similar problem, i got iPhone4 with OS 4.02... upgraded to OS4.1 by backing up SHSH blob using TinyUmbrella, used Greenpois0n to jailbreak and ultrasnow to unlock and using on T-mobile network, everything works fine expect the most exciting FaceTime (understandable ... as MiTime 1.3 does not support iOS4.1) so decided to downgrade my iOS 4.1 to 4.02 using saved SHSH blob in Tiny Umbrella i always get 3002 error 3194 while restoring, i followed all steps correctly....but i am stuck with iOS4.1 when i see TinyUmbrella my saved SHSH shows as iPhone4 4.1 (8B117)-************** , is this common ...?? i am 100% sure i backed up my SHSH correctly before upgrading to iOS4.1 (also i am advanced iPhone user unlocked 27 iPhone2g , 12 iphone 3g/s and 3 iphone 4)

    Somebody please help me ....

your obviously not that advanced, since you obviously didnt back up your 4.02 blobs, you backed up your 4.1 blobs. 4.02 blobs have not been available for quite some time. Bottom line: You are now stuck at 4.1

edit: confirmed in another thread, to which YOU posted the exact same question as above (almost verbatim) - you even SAY you have the SHSH blobs for 4.1, but can't figure out why you cant get back to 4.02, and also proclaim how advanced you are, and how many iphone's you've unlocked. LOL.. Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean, it was the comment about being so advanced that makes this ironic. Sorry bro - Good luck.

I may not be advanced as much you are ..!! but i backed my SHSH in TU before upgrading to iOS4.1 .... i see them as "iPhone4 4.1 (8B117)-2102623314894" in my TU... in my iPhone4 Settings->General->About->Version 4.1
    ->Modem Firmware 01.59.00
if i upgrade with out backup my modem firmware would have been 02.x.x ...???

so i did it correctly .... but why i couldn't downgrade to 4.02 ..? don't make fun.... if you can just answer ...

when you request a SHSH via TinyUmbrella (or via Cydia) it will request the a SHSH for the iOS version that Apple currenly signs. This is NOT always the iOS version you are running right now.

Apple stopped signing 4.0.2 within a very short time of releasing 4.1

When you used tinyumbrella to preserve your baseband and upgrade to 4.1 this only saved a copy of the 4.1 SHSH. If at that time, Apple was still signing 4.0.2 you could have used the advanced mode in tinyumbrella to back up 4.0.2 as well. If you didn't explicitly do that - then your chance to backup a 4.0.2 SHSH is long gone.

I've merged this with another thread you started on the same topic. Please don't start multiple threads.

You need to read up about http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index....tle=At%2Bnonce to understand why your baseband did not upgrade. You backed up a 4.1 SHSH - simply accept this and move on. There is no way backwards now.

The problem with 4.1 was that is was going really slow and buggy in iPhone 4. And the second problem was that every time I tried going to Settings, General, Network, it crashed.
Then after a couple of restores it didn't even pass the Apple Logo, so I just downgraded to 4.0.2 and it is running good.

I can relate as to having problems with 4.1. Upgraded from 4.0.0 to 4.1 using Pwnage Tool 4.1.2, everything went fine.

    FaceTime doesn't work
Battery is draining faster than it was on 4.0.0
95% of the time, the iPhone is warm to the touch, in 4.0.0 I can't recall it being warm except when Gaming.

Im going back to 4.0.1 instead of 4.0.0, I have my SHSH blob for it. Question is, the procedure is just Start TSS Server and do a normal restore through iTunes to 4.0.1?

    Thanks

Start TinyUmbrella / TSS Server and do a shift-restore, pointing to the IPSW for 4.0.0 or 4.0.1. If you just do a regular restore, it will attempt to restore 4.1.
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.
