Default Custom Firmwire failed to update stuck in DFU mode help!

I have the Iphone 3gs new bootrom.
    I followed this guide.
    Jailbreak iOS 4 iPhone 3GS (New BootRom) with Sn0wBreeze 1.7 | iPhoneHeat
This is jailbroken 3.1.2 via blackra1n.
I followed the instructions. Well I think a followed all of it.
But Itunes gave out an error. Can't seem to give me the update!
Now I'm stuck on DFU mode. I tried reinstalling the 3.1.2 fw but Itunes still gave the same error!
Is there a way for me to get this back into its original settings?
    HELP!

Unless you have a SHSH backed up for a previous iOS release - your ONLY option is to restore to stock 4.0.1 and wait for new jailbreak.

Next time research, ask stupid questions if necessary and stay right away from sn0wbreeze - it is not supported on this forum for very good reasons.

Good news, new JB is out -- if you're on factory 4.0.1, you can just visit JailbreakMe from the device and jailbreak.

As Olethros said, learn the lesson from this -- sn0wbreeze is extremely fickle and if you do a search on the forums you'll find a lot of people with the same or similar issues after using it. It's not reliable and it is a very poorly hacked Windows version of the dev-team's jailbreak.

We only recommend you use PwnageTool or redsn0w, or other dev-team specific tools -- for this very reason. If you don't have a Mac, download VBox and go spend the $130 for an OS X license and install in a VM -- then you never have to worry again. (Or just wait until the windows tools are released and save the cash)
