hey orlethos, i tried doing the commcenter patch by wortel and it didnt work for me, there was a couple of things i couldnt find on the plist files, any suggestions?

Update, i did everything like the manual said and still nothing , what else can i do?

search a app in cydia called TetherMe and installing it will put that tab back on iphone4.

The option is AllowEDGEEditing

If you have erica's utilities installed on your phone it's as simple as navigating to the carrier bundle your phone is using and running the following command

plutil -key AllowEDGEEditing -true carrier.plist

Hey Oletheros i have been trying this command on cdma ip4 for a couple of weeks now since i have have it and when entered with key and string tags and just using the phrase AllowEDGEEditing it wipe everything out of the plist below the tag,when putting it in just as you have it here it give me unknown tag plutil error line 2 do you have an excact format to write this in,also i tried to shsh it in as well as just using text editor to type it in with the same result each way,I have a custom carrier bundle i have been working on getting installed but keep running into snags,so i am trying to just edit the Zeppelin_US.bundle my phone is using,i have already patched commcenter.

also i am on cdma 4.2.6

You don't edit this file in a text editor.
plutil is a command line utility that you can install from Cydia. The package you install from Cydia is called Erica's Utilities

Then you SSH into the phone and run the following command

i use plist editor for windows to edit this file,and sh it into phone,i just said that i also have tried using the text editor with ifile to execute it as well all with the same result,it completely wipes all data from the plist from under the second line where it is applied,i have used it on earlier models and it has worked fine,i could then edit successfully, but with ip4 cdma it does not have the same effect,it just blanks the whole page,and was wondering if you or anyone had anything on this. but thanks for the reply,any thoughts?

Okay, you probably need an updated version of the wortel patch. The behaviour you are talking about is normal for when commcenter isn't actually patched properly.

The last patch I saw from him worked on all iOS 4.x devices up to 4.2.1 however the CDMA phone is running 4.2.6 and the patch may no longer work.

Wortel hangs out mostly on other forums that I can't/won't link to.
