Default Bluetooth problems! (not seeing devices)

    Hello guys!

I really hate to bother you again but I need to. I'm having problems with bluetooth. Happens that, when I turn it on, the wheel spins forever and it never finds a device to pair with. By the way, i know how to pair devices and i'm familiar with these things so it's not that the bluetooth devices are not in pairing mode.
I've tried with 2 other phones, one bluetooth keyboard, my macbook and a bluetooth headset, but my iphone 4 won't put them on list.

What can it be? I already rebooted and restored network settings, with no success.

    Thank you!

Hi, while I don't know what's causing this problem, I suggest you check Settings > General > About and if you have the "Bluetooth" section blank, it's probably something serious (like hardware related) but if you have the address there, the problem is probably something simple, try restoring the phone.
Right after the restore, before you "restore from backup", try to use the bluetooth, if it works you can then restore from backup and try again, hope it solves your problem.

Yes, I can see the MAC address. It defers from the wifi mac in just 1 character. Is this normal? I hope so.
Uhh didn't want to read that haha. Now I'm on 4.2.1 but have no SHSHs saved (because I got it after apple stopped signing 4.2.1), so its either bluetooth, or jailbreak. Tough decision.

If you have any other ideas it'd be great! If nothing works out I'll try that anyway.

    Thank you!

Yes that's normal... Well you could install syslogd from cydia and take a look at the log, there may be important info... Can other devices find your iphone thru bluetooth?

There's no relevant info whatsoever it seems. Yes, other devices find me. Didn't try to pair though, but yes, they can find me. Have no clues really. I was looking forward to connecting a bluetooth keyboard because my computer is in tech support, and that's how I noticed. I read somewhere that the iPhone could only pair with bt headsets but i also read that in iOS 4 the support for bt keyboards was enabled. How come?

I know it works with apple's bt keyboard, but you first have to disconnect from the mac. Have you ever paired the device you're trying to pair now with an iPhone before?

In thr case of the bt keyboard, it worked several years ago with my iPAQ, but it's working perfectly. The bt headset was paired with my iphone 2g and worked perfectly too (afterwards i unpaired them), so i'm sure both devices are working and the problem is the iPhone.

As syslog will help troubleshoot this. The bluetooth daemon is very verbose and a problem should show up here.

So the phone isn't jailbroken yet?

Sure! It is jailbroken (syslog installed). How do i make the syslog to monitor the bt problems? Yesterday, I tried turning it on, but nothing would show up in var/log anyway, despite of some activation stuff.

Reboot the phone and see if anything appears in /var/log/syslog
